I just made a rather large parts order. You can follow along by seeing what I plucked off the list.
One of the things I’m most excited about is the Brantz rally computer (tripmeter). We’ve heard nothing but good things about them and Christine is excited to get one in the car. I never thought I would be showered with affection by saying “… and I’ll wire the remote to a foot switch so you can make easy resets.” “OMG You can make it a foot switch?!” This response can be explained after you understand that she used a “Terror” computer at the rally school. Hunched over the buttons – hard to see – hard to understand.
With absolutely no shock to me at all, the rally car didn’t pass the CA smog test. The car has the original O2 sensors and the CAT has hit the ground on a number of occasions. Did I mention she’s on engine #2…
At least the CE light wasn’t on and it *gasp PASSED a visual inspection. So, some fresh BOSCH sensors are on the way and I might drag a midpipe home with me on our next trip to the eco-yard.
Out of curiosity, where did you order the Brantz from? Directly from Demon Tweeks or from a States-side supplier? So far Primm has been less than reliable for me.
Directly from Demon Tweeks – but not without drama. Their site looks like it will take your American Credit Card, but they needed to do a shipping quote. They responded via email, told me how much it would be in Pounds (helpfull…), and asked for my credit card info over email… I had to make an international phone call.
I have yet to track the ‘black box full of wires and a timer’ through customs.
Would that be ‘better’?

Yeah, that’s what I went through when I first ordered the Brantz from Demon Tweeks with the incorrect sensor. And Primm just took our payment, claimed to ship, never got us a tracking number, no product ever showed up, and then gave us crap when we reversed the charge. I guess I’ll just order straight from Demon Tweeks but with enough stuff to make it worthwhile. Not going to pay $50 shipping/VAT just on a wheel sensor (the JAP spec sensor won’t fit Subaru transmissions)…looks like I’ll finally pick up a steering wheel and other goodies.
Saw your post about brake pads and fluid on Special Stage.
Email me and I will give you the name of the best guy for advice on brakes I have found.
Super helpful and very responsive. Fixed the braking problems on my Neon so that we could win Pikes Peak Production class.
